Within the association’s program framework, a key focus area is Quality Control and Certification across various potato products, including seed potatoes, ware potatoes, and processed ones. The association dedicates efforts to establishing stringent quality standards, certifications, and accreditation processes to guarantee the production of premium-grade potatoes that adhere to both domestic and international benchmarks. This program is conducted in collaboration with the Ethiopian Agriculture Authority, standards institutes, and other related institutions. Specifically, this initiative encompasses the thorough examination and certification of seed potatoes to ensure their genetic purity and disease-free status, the monitoring of ware potatoes to maintain quality throughout the supply chain, and the certification of processed potato products to meet safety and quality requirements. By implementing robust quality control measures and certification protocols, the association contributes to elevating industry standards, enhancing consumer confidence, and facilitating market access for high-quality potatoes across different product categories.
